A Joyous Journey Through South Africa
We booked our journey from Dubai to South Africa with Alice Teramoto, a destination specialist with Goway. Alice ensured that we were booked for all of the extras we wanted and organized a fantastic trip for us to enjoy! The local company that we worked with while there (Thompsons) was highly responsive and super helpful. Alice made great suggestions and kept us well informed & organized. It was an easy process for us and everything worked out well. The group size was perfect, the accommodations were awesome and all local guides were excellent!

Outstanding travel adventure
We have used Goway for several trips now. Our most recent trip was a trip to Africa with a safari focus. We know we can trust them will all the details. Once we described what kind of experience we wanted, they helped to ensure it was the best possible. Our agent Alice is always there for any questions pre-departure and during our travel time. All transfers were in place from getting from point A to B. All of the tour guides were very professional and very knowledgeable. We know we are in good hands with Goway and highly recommend.

Dreaming of an African Safari
I'm a travel advisor and worked with Jodi at GoWay to help create my clients dream African Safari. My clients returned in June and couldn't wait to provide their feedback. They absolutely LOVED everything about their journey. They got to see so many animals and the babies. They shared a video of 2 male lions walking right next to their safari vehicle! They felt safe and well taken care of. Their tour guides were amazing. They felt as if they were on a private tour since there were no more than 20 people at the lodges. Thanks Jodi and GoWay for helping my clients achieve their dream vacation!

South Africa Group Trip
I recently partnered with Goway to plan a luxury group trip to South Africa, and they delivered an incredible experience from start to finish. The itinerary was thoughtfully crafted, well-paced, and filled with meaningful excursions—my clients especially loved the Soweto tour, safaris, and wine country. Their guide Brenda was a standout—warm, professional, and unforgettable. The prearranged meals, comfortable transportation, and hand-picked accommodations made travel smooth and enjoyable for all. Goway was a reliable and attentive partner throughout the planning process, and I look forward to working with them again for future group adventures! Special shoutout to Frank & Tanya for being gems all throughout the planning process and handling the changes along the way, they truly made me look like a rockstar to my clients.

Travel Information about Tanzania

Get to know Tanzania before you go.

Best Time To Visit

Tanzania’s seasons shape the rhythm of its wildlife and offer different rewards depending on when you go. The dry months from June to September are prime for safaris—clear skies, open landscapes, and animals gathering at waterholes. It’s also the best time to witness the dramatic river crossings during the Great Migration.

April and May bring rain but also fewer crowds and green, photogenic backdrops. For those looking to combine beach and bush, December to February offers warm weather and lively wildlife sightings, especially during the calving season in the Southern Serengeti.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tanzania offers some of the best safari experiences in the world, paired with warm hospitality, rich culture, and stunning coastal escapes. From the Great Migration in the Serengeti to the white-sand beaches of Zanzibar, it’s a destination full of contrast and wonder.

Yes—whether you’re chasing wildlife, looking for cultural immersion, or dreaming of a luxury getaway. “The people and wildlife are amazing,” says Goway’s Brooke Theron. “You always feel safe at the tented camps, and the landscape is breathtaking.”

Plan on 10 to 14 days to explore the northern safari circuit—including Tarangire (famous for its elephant sightings), the Ngorongoro Crater (a wildlife-rich area dubbed the eighth wonder of the world) and the Serengeti—plus spend time on the coast. “An ideal first-time itinerary starts in Arusha and ends in Zanzibar,” says Destination Specialist Kelley Cleaveland. To maximize time, “Sky Safari” packages using small aircraft to fly guests directly between lodges offer breathtaking aerial views of Tanzania’s diverse landscapes as well as convenience.

In tourist areas, it is generally safe to walk around Tanzania during the day if you take standard precautions against petty crime. However, you should avoid walking alone at night and take extra care in major cities like Dar es Salaam and Arusha, where crime rates are higher

Visitors to Tanzania should ensure that their routine immunizations are up-to-date, and consider vaccinations for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, and tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis. A yellow fever vaccination certificate may be required if you are traveling from a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission. Rabies and meningitis vaccinations are also recommended, as is malaria prevention medication.
