Insider Travel Tips
Denmark: A Nordic gem of islands, culture, and cosmopolitan charm.
Denmark isn't just a country — it's a peninsula with more than 400 islands off its northern coast. While they are far reaching, Greenland and the Faroe Islands compose part of the Kingdom of Denmark. As the gateway to Scandinavia, Denmark is a Nordic gem composed of modern cities and traditional village brought together by contemporary design.
As you explore the country, you'll hear Danish being spoken on the streets. However, much of the population speaks English, German, or French. Faroese and Greenlandic, on their respective islands, are recognized as regional official languages.
Danes are considered very cosmopolitan and well-educated, largely in part due to their social systems. Education is free in Denmark, as is healthcare, which contributes to its reputation as one of the world's happiest nations.
