STEVE PERKINS

ASIA

DESTINATION SPECIALIST

Asia (the largest continent) is quite possibly the most exotic and culturally rich of them all. Globetrotters who open themselves up to exploring Asia are forever changed! After graduating from college, I moved to Japan where I lived and worked as an English instructor for nearly 6 years. This life-changing experience truly made me fall in love with all things Asia. Upon returning to Canada, I began my career at Goway Travel and am now a Senior Asia Specialist with over 10 years of experience customizing unforgettable tailor-made holidays for the valued clients of my travel agent partners. I have been very fortunate with my travels throughout Asia which over the years have taken me to Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, and the UAE. One of my most treasured travel memories is when I visited the Taj Mahal in Agra, India in the very early morning and just sat there staring at it in complete awe. Asia is my passion and I cannot wait to share that passion with you and your clients while working closely together on creating amazing trips that they’ll never forget.

My favourite places

  • Philippines

    Asia

With 7,107 islands and islets, the Philippines is a destination not to be missed. Offering some of the best beaches in Asia, unique cultural experiences, unparalleled shopping and the friendliest people, the Philippines is a great place to explore and get a taste of authentic Asia!

  • China

    Asia

China - the largest country in Asia is full of wonder and experiences to make any trip unforgettable! You could easily travel to China multiple times and have a completely different experience each time. Sitting on the Great Wall of China and view the spectacular scenery and take in the history is something I'll never forget.

  • India

    Asia

There is simply no place quite like India! It is best enjoyed as a stand-alone travel destination and is truly the land of contrasts in weather, culture, food and history. Although it may seem like a daunting destination to travel to, push yourself out of your comfort zone and give it a chance - you'll be so glad you did!

  • Nepal

    Asia

This small, land-locked country in Asia is known throughout the world as being the home of awe-inspiring Mt. Everest (as well as 7 of the other highest peaks on the planet)! Full of diverse culture, history, culinary delights and some of the most hospitable people in Asia, Nepal should certainly be added to any globetrotter’s travel bucket list!

Did you know?

  • The Philippines has over 7,107 islands and boasts some of the most pristine beaches in all of Asia.
  • If you wish to travel to Japan in March/April to see the beautiful cherry blossoms, you should plan/book your trip at least 8-12 months in advance.
  • Nyepi Day (new year celebration) in Bali is a day of silence where you cannot leave your hotel and must stay indoors as per the culture/tradition of this island of Indonesia.
