AMANDA DE OLIVEIRA

CENTRAL & SOUTH AMERICA

DESTINATION SPECIALIST

Having a love for learning new cultures and meeting people from all walks of life has made the transition into life as a travel agent so seamless. This role allows me to build a rapport with clients, and build them the experience of their dreams. I have vast experience developing tour itineraries and ticketing, specializing in Europe and South America. My passion for exploring new destinations has taken me across countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Brazil, Colombia, and India.

My favourite places

  • Bali, Indonesia

Bali is the famed Island of the Gods, with its varied landscape of hills and mountains, rugged coastlines, and sandy beaches. Lush rice terraces and volcanic hillsides provide a picturesque backdrop to its colorful, deeply spiritual, and unique culture. Bali stakes a serious claim to being paradise on earth.

  • Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil, on the South Atlantic coast. Rio is famous for its breathtaking landscape, its laid-back beach culture, and its annual carnival. The "Carioca Landscapes between the Mountain and the Sea" have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

  • Chiang Mai, Thailand

Chiang Mai is most famous for its beautiful ancient temples, though there is much more to see and do. The striking mountainous landscape around the city provides a lot of wonderful natural attractions and is home to two tribal villages.

  • Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon is the capital and the largest city of Portugal. With over 20 centuries of history, this city located on the seven hills has more than 500,000 inhabitants. Lisbon shows multiple contrasts between the historic and modern, combining different cultures, trends, and lifestyles.

Did you know?

  • Balinese babies are carried everywhere in the first few months of their lives because they are not allowed to touch the ground. They are considered little angels, and their connection to the spirits is kept intact by not touching the earth.
  • Cristo Redendor (Christ the Redeemer) is one of the largest statues of Jesus and the tallest art deco statue in the world. Christ the Redeemer reaches a height of 30 metres and boasts an arm span of 28 metres.
  • Thailand's current population of domesticated elephants is about 2,700. It is estimated that there are 40,000–50,000 remaining Asian Elephants in the world and 2,000–3,000 elephants remaining in the wild in Thailand.
  • One of the most frequently reported crimes in Portugal is pickpocketing. Pickpockets often work in teams (sometimes using young children as a distraction) so it's important to always be aware of your surroundings.
