LISA GUIOTTO

UK EUROPE

DESTINATION SPECIALIST

I’m from Italy, and a pasta, espresso, and people lover. I'm from a small town an hour outside of Venice. I grew up there, but in 2014 I decided to move to Toronto. I've always loved to travel. I started my career in travel back in 2007, representing a major Italian tour operator and had the fortune to live and work abroad for many years. I travelled to Kos, Santorini, Crete, the Bahamas, Zanzibar, Kenya, Marsa Alam, Lanzarote, Tenerife, Fuerte Ventura, and the Dominican Republic. I visited many other places on my leisure time, because to me travel is a need. I need to pack my bags and go out there and discover new cultures. I love to see new places, try new food, and seek new adventures.

My favourite places

  • Tuscany

    UK Europe

I'm Italian and my favourite place is Tuscany. You can really see how the locals live there and experience the real Italy, la bella vita! Great scenarios, excellent wines, and amazing food.

  • Santorini, Greece

    UK Europe

I've been to Santorini and it is magical. I highly recommend it for a unique trip. Very friendly locals and amazing fresh food.

  • Cambodia

    Asia

I was in Cambodia for a month and I had such an amazing trip. The people were so lovely and nice, and there was stunning scenery and great wildlife.

  • Kenya

    Africa & Middle East

I was in Kenya for a month and I had the time of my life. Africa is difficult to forget and once you visit it you will keep it in your heart forever. I also did a safari and I strongly recommend it.

Did you know?

  • Be aware of afternoon closures. Europeans value their lunch breaks, and midday meals often extend over hours. So you may find a ticket office or post is closed from noon until 2pm.
  • In Europe, ask the locals where to eat. They really know their city/town and they can suggest the best place to taste local food without being ripped off.
  • Italy has 50 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the most of any country in the world.
  • Pizza is one of the very few words which is understood all over the world. I suggest you try the real Neapolitan pizza when visiting Italy.
